- Viana do Castelo – It is one of the most beautiful cities in the north of Portugal. Barcelos is a village rich in beauty and natural landscapes, famous for its handicrafts and for the legend “Galo de Barcelos” which is one of the greatest symbols of the Portuguese nation.
Color, life and culture are the words that characterize the life of Barcelos and perfectly combine tradition and modernity, where you can discover its history and its secrets.
We will start our visit in the historic center of Barcelos, an unmissable place with its important medieval Gothic bridge, dating from the 14th century, the Pelourinho, a building from the end of the 15th century, in Gothic style, the Church of Bom Jesus da Cruz, the fascinating octagonal church with a remarkable architecture from the 18th century and also the Palace of the Counts of Barcelos, also known as Palace of the Dukes of Bragança from the 15th century and erected by D. Afonso, 8th Count of Barcelos and first Duke of Bragança.
We will continue our tour discovering the most beautiful city in Portugal surrounded by the legend of love and the beautiful Princess Ana.

Viana do Castelo has an attractive medieval center, a magnificent riverside area and beautiful beaches located outside the city.
The old part of the city has 19th century avenues and narrow streets populated by large Manueline houses. We will not fail to visit one of the most exceptional tourist attractions, the Basilica of Santa Luzia, an icon of Viana do Castelo located at the top of the Santa Luzia hill.
Inspired by the Sacré-Coeur in Paris, this magnificent 18th-century structure offers breathtaking views of the mouth of the Lima River and the ocean.
Viana do Castelo is also known for the Portuguese art “The Filigree”. Filigree is a delicate type of jewellery, usually in gold and silver. The most popular of Portuguese creations is the Heart of Viana. It is a symbol of honesty and generosity for those who wear it.
And our journey ends with the discovery of Ponte de Lima, one of the oldest and most historic villages in the north of Portugal and the birthplace of the popular Vinho Verde.
From its sumptuous gardens, chic mansions and its bridge over the Lima river formed by two distinct sections, one Roman and the other medieval.
Ponte de Lima is a charming village surrounded by the magnificent landscapes of the Minho Valley. It is also a privileged stop for pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela.

What is the maximum number of passengers per vehicle?
The car, a Sedan type vehicle, carries up to 4 passengers, but we recommend that you only travel a maximum of 3 passengers for your safety and comfort. As for the VAN, it transports up to 7 passengers + the guide/driver.
If there are more than 7 passengers, how do I book?
If you want to make a reservation and there are more than 7 passengers, you will need to make 2 separate reservations.
What is the hygiene protocol?
The hygiene protocols are:
- Places of constant access will be regularly disinfected
- Equipment will be disinfected between use
- Transport vehicles will be regularly disinfected
Will I have contact with the guide?
Yes, the day before our commercial department will send you by WhatsApp or email all the tour information as well as the name and contact of the guide.
Will you pick us at our accommodation, house or hotel?
The driver will pick you up at the entrance to your hotel or apartment, or another location that is more suitable for both. Don’t worry, the day before the tour you will be contacted by the guide and he will arrange everything with you.
What time does the tour start and end?
Usually the 8-hour tours start between 9:00 am and 10:00 am and ends between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm. For the 4 hour tours, half day, usually between 9:00 am and 10:00 am and ends at 1:00 pm/2:00 pm. Arrange everything with your guide!
What kind of clothes should I bring?
Choose comfortable clothes and shoes, because will always be some walking time and Portugal has warm, sunny days for most of the year.
