When I was arriving to Madeira Island I became amazed at such beauty! Soon from the plane you could see that it would be unforgettable. Very green and surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. Me (Edu) and José couldn’t have chosen a better time to come.
We came in the winter, to spend the New Year’s Eve! Portugal in December is very cold but in Madeira the climate is tropical and very sunny! The New Year’s Eve here is magical but be mistaken if you think there is little to do all year round. See the calendar of events!
The Madeira Archipelago is a set of Portuguese islands, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean: it consists of the islands of Madeira, Porto Santo, the Desert Islands and the Wild Islands. Madeira Island is of volcanic origin. It is 742.4 km2, extensive endemic, native and exotic flora, and its climate is typically Mediterranean.
